The Effect of the Chain Saw
Though it may be something you think of in terms of horror movies, the chain saw is actually one of the great inventions of our time in terms of its affect on industry. The chainsaw is a, of course, a motorized saw that runs using either electricity or gasoline as fuel. It has many private and industrial uses that make the chain saw one of the most versatile machines for use on wood.
One of the great uses of the chain saw and where it has perhaps had its greatest impact is on the logging industry. There was a time when trees and logs had to be cut by hand saw. This was not only incredibly demanding physically, but also time consuming. When these saws came along, though, the job became faster. Faster work means more wood and more wood means more material to build. The saw is responsible for changing the lumber industry as it was once known.
When it comes to private use, the chain saw is still common. Many people, especially in rural areas, may choose to use a chain saw as a way to get wood for fireplaces and stoves. Additionally, a saw is great for many demolition projects as well as stump removal or simple tree trimming. The choice is yours, but there definitely is a place for the saw among private citizens.
As you can see, the chain saw is a big part of both industrial and private development of wood working. It is amazing to see what one invention like that can do for the logging industry which in turn affects carpentry, housing, and eventually the entire economy. You may have never thought of the saw as that important before, but once you consider the way the affects grow, you can see just how much it is a part of industry.
